About the Raffle
When is the draw?
The draw will take place on Saturday, December 31, 2022 @ 11:00 pm at the Greek Community of Niagara – Greek Orthodox Church of St. Catharines (585 Niagara
Street, St. Catharines).
How many raffle tickets are available?
There are only 12,000 tickets available for purchase; 8,000 for in-person sales and 4,000 for on-line sales.
Where do the proceeds go?
All proceeds go to the Greek Community of Niagara – Greek Orthodox Church of St. Catharines & District. To learn more about our programs, please visit www.greekcommunityofniagara.com.

Eligibility
How old do you have to be to purchase a ticket?
Participants must be at least 18 years of age. Tickets cannot be purchased in the name of a minor.
Can someone outside of Ontario purchase a ticket?
Raffle tickets licensed in Ontario must not be offered for sale, sold or ordered from outside of Ontario. However, while in Ontario, residents of other countries or provinces may purchase raffle tickets licensed in Ontario.
Purchasing Tickets
Where can I purchase a ticket?
Tickets can be purchased online (www.GCNRAFFLE.ca) or in-person by calling (905)685-3028 or by visiting the office during regular business hours. Tickets will also
be available for purchase during the Niagara Greek Festival (September 2-4, 2022)
located at 585 Niagara St, St. Catharines (corner of Niagara St. and Linwell Rd.).
When is the deadline to purchase tickets?
Sales will be cut off at 10:30 pm, December 31, 2022.
What payment options are acceptable?
In-Person ticket purchases shall be paid by credit card, debit, cheques or cash. Cheques must be cleared in order for tickets to be entered into the draw. For the Main
Draw, cheques will be accepted up until December 1, 2022. A fee of $25 will be
charged for any NSF cheques.
Online ticket purchases shall be paid by PAYPAL, visa, mastercard, or visa-debit.
Is my ticket tax deductible?
No
What happens if my payment does not go through?
Only tickets that have been paid for and/or have been verified as paid for are eligible to be entered into the draw.
ONLINE ORDERS
How do I get my tickets if I order online?
Once your order is placed and method of payment verified, you will be able to print your raffle tickets. You will also receive an email confirmation with your raffle ticket numbers.
Will I receive an email confirmation once I place my order?
Yes! Once your order is placed and method of payment confirmed, you will receive an email confirmation along with a list of your raffle ticket number(s).
How are tickets generated online?
There will be 4,000 tickets available for online ticket sales. The ticket numbers will not be generated randomly.
I am having problems ordering my tickets online, what should I do?

Why haven't I received my ticket confirmation email?
Your email might have been diverted to your junk, spam or promotions folder. Once you locate the email, mark this as “not junk” or safe sender so email from GCN Draw will be directed to your inbox.
DRAW DETAILS
Where will the draw take place?
The draw will take place at the Greek Community of Niagara-Greek Orthodox Church of St. Catharines & District, 585 Niagara St, St. Catharines (corner of Niagara St. and
Linwell Rd.).
Can anyone view the draw?
Yes! Anyone wishing to attend the draw can do so. We will also be live streaming the draw on Facebook.
How are the winning tickets drawn?
All in-person and online ticket stubs will be placed into a drum.
Main Draw (December 31, 2022): The drum will be spun at least five times prior to the
draw. The draw sequence will begin with the 6th Prize and work backwards until the 1st
Prize is drawn. The winning tickets will be drawn by a neutral third party that has not
purchased a ticket. Each winning ticket will be recorded and re-entered in the draw for
all subsequent draws. The drum will be spun at least 5 times in between each draw.
If I win a prize, does my ticket go back in for the other prizes?
Yes! Each winning ticket will be recorded and re-entered in the draw for all subsequent draws.
PRIZES & WINNERS
Do I need my ticket to claim my prize?
NO! All you need to do is show a photo identification.
How are winners notified?
The Greek Community of Niagara will call all of the winners. The winning ticket numbers and winners will also be posted on our www.GCNRAFFLE.CA website, Facebook and Instagram.
How do I claim my prize?
The Grand Prize will be claimed at Henley Honda located at 308 Lake Street, St. Catharines, ON. All other prizes will be claimed at the Greek Community of Niagara located at 585 Niagara Street, St. Catharines, ON. Prizes will only be awarded to the registered ticket buyer. Prizes must be claimed within six (6) months of the prize date.
What do I need to bring with me to claim my prize if I am a winner?
You will need to bring a photo identification (Ie. Driver's Licence, OHIP Card, Passport).
Do I pay taxes if I win a prize?
Lottery winnings are considered a windfall and not taxable in Canada.
Do I have to take the car or can I just take cash for it?
The car and other prixes are awarded as advertised. Cash is not an option.
Are the prizes donated?
All of the prizes are donated by:
- Grand Prize: 2023 Honda CRV Sport donated by the Greek Community of Niagara
- 2nd Prize: $5,000 Cash donated by the Greek Community of Niagara
- 3rd Prize: $1,500 Cash donated by Gus Koroneos Denture & Implant Solutions and Hear Better Niagara
- 4th Prize: $1,000 Cash donated by Gyros on the Lake
- 5th Prize: $1,000 Cash donated by Bill Papaioannou - ReMax Escarpment Realty Inc.
- 6th Prize: $500 Joe Feta's Gift Card + $500 Cash donated by Joe Feta's Greek Village
Technical Help
Why does GCNraffle.ca require my location and/or why am I receiving the following prompt?
Example: www.gcnraffle.ca would like to use your current location?
Your current location is required to confirm eligibility. The lottery will be offered
throughout the Province of Ontario (the “Raffle Area”). Void outside the Raffle Area and
where prohibited by law, rule, or regulation.
What if I already selected "Don't Allow"?
Reloading the page should cause you to be prompted to share your location again. If you have specified that you never want to share your location, you will need to go into your settings to allow. See below for instructions.
What if I receive the following prompt?
“You must allow your browser to share your location to purchase tickets, please click
OK/Close to reload this page, and then be sure to allow your browser to share your
location when prompted”?
- The browser should reload the page and ask you to share location upon loading.
- Note: In some browsers, the popup may say “Close” instead of “OK”.
I entered the incorrect email and did not print my tickets, how can I get my tickets resent?
Please go to the Contact page and request that the lottery Manager email you your
tickets again to the correct address.
What if I can not purchase tickets on www.gcnraffle.ca due to location issues?
You may have told your browser to never share your location. You need to change that
setting to allow sale.
For iOS devices:
- Go to the Settings App.
- Go to Privacy.
- Go into Location Services.
- Ensure “Location Services” are on.
- Scroll down and click “Safari Websites.”
- Make sure that Allow Location Access is set to “While Using the App."
Chrome has the same setting if you are using that instead.
For Android (though this may vary by version):
- Go to Setting App.
- Go to Location and make sure that it is on.
- Go back to previous screen and go to Apps.
- Go to Chrome.
- Click Permissions.
- Ensure that Location is enabled.
Note: If still experiencing problems, go to maps.google.com in your browser and see
where it places you.
Privacy
Will my name be publicized if I am a winner?
In accordance with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) regulations, winner information must be collected and provided to the AGCO, including ticket number, full name and contact information.
Winner information will also be published on the website. By claiming a prize, winner consents to the use of their photograph, first and last name, ticket number, city/town of residence and the audio/video recording (or written transcription) of the winner notification telephone call, for any publicity purposes by The Greek Community of Niagara. Winner information may be released to the news media and may be used in advertising for the GCN Raffle advertisement, or The Greek Community of Niagara’s future events.
